Ignorance is bliss And you seem to like being like this So you take pride in not knowing Too caught up in this ugliness you're too blinded to realize that you're not growing
So I slap you in the face with my words And you call me a hater But I'm no hater I just know where the truth is I know what the truth is And the truth is you don't know who you are You don't know who you've become They mold you into what they want you to be according to the season But guess what honey? You ain't in this season In fact, you'll never be in Coz you got the wrong faith The wrong skin The wrong nose They got you thinking that the negative is positive And the positive is a downbeat
All I gotta give are these tears But just coz I'm crying doesn't mean I'm the victim I cry for what you continue to deny You see I refuse to sail through life aimless with no goal So I let out my caged words And off they fly to places where people have forgotten how to aspire How beautiful it is to know that simple words can inspire How easily they can convert haters into lovers
**Inspired by the UAE's current situation regarding National Identity among Locals.. Now only those who are awake will understand why I feel that National Identity in the UAE is under great danger and why such issue is so close to my heart..
And I shall say no more.. The rest is up to you guys.. The mic is in ur hands**
P.S. sorry for the watermark.. but I really don't want people using this without permission coz this photo means a lot to me.. Thanks for understanding
Lovely poem, but I think it is better to use "because" instead of coz. The picture is nice too, looks like a painting.
As for National Identity...that is complex. With globalization, identity became blurry and more with migration/immigration. Fact is, where is my home, and who am I is very delicate subject and are only true to the individual and not the community, since we are think, feel, see thinks differently.
I would like to ask you, what do you consider to be the Emarati identity? Is there a list of characteristics that makes someone this and that? Is it a state of mind? a feeling?
First of all that u so much for ur input.. and Secondly, thank u for takin this a step further with ur questions..
There's not doubt that National Identity is a very complex and sensitive issue.. to me being an Emarati is about how far u would go to make this country a better place.. how devoted u are to this country.. how are u giving back to this country.. of course, dress, language and culture all play a major role in shaping an Emarati.. but it's also a lot deeper than just that.. so I guess yah, it is a feeling.. a feeling of deep devotion, loyalty and contribution..
The problem is i think we lost sense of who we really were and who we are today.. we've become aimless and just living for the sake of living.. not all of course.. im speaking generally.. there are still those few left who are developing themselves and bettering themselves in order to serve this country in any way possible..
Hope this answers ur question.. and thanks again for your wonderful input.. much appreciated

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

سبحان الله و بحمده
سبحان الله العظيم
then fav it again
and again
this poem went beyond the emotional border, it showed deep thoughts that I feel all the time..but didn't know how to translate it into words
the picture was shown in its full potential, the picture looked more beautiful after I read the poem than before
a tip:more contrast would've made the picture more dramatic

I Like it
Now the only valuable thing is money and the aim is to live well or for those who don't have it, is to make it to the next day without hunger.
